Studio for Portrait-Photography
I love working as a studio-photographer BUT depending what the requirements are, great results may be found elsewhere.
Now I have created portraits in a Village hall or in a Forest or on The Beach BUT I guess that a good studio is possibly the most controlled environment for Portrait photography, depending of course what type of portraits may be required. Portrait photography is a very wide gamut and may include everything from Head Shots to Glamour & more depending how people wish to describe it.
Studio Photography for Everyone
I know that when I’m shooting in a studio evironment I - well I was going to say get carried away - but in actual fact I just get into the grove and whether it’s that or the adrellalin of it all I just get creative and it just flows. Of course you need to be fairly organised and have props etc all organised prior to starting the shoot, as well as having had a good discussion with the client / model as to what they are looking for and or what they would like you to create for them.
One of my personal favourites is to shoot for a young model just starting out who may need their first portfolio to present to agents etc to begin their career. This is when I can pass on some of my knowledge and experience to the person ( male or female ), to provide them with elements of knowledge and guidance to start to build their foundation for the future.
This may include Posing techniques, How to create movement with posing, where to look, how to work with a photographer and may be what clothes and outfits to use for future shoots.
One of the latest I did of these was for a young brother & sister, both of whom wanted to get into modelling and even Catwalk modelling - they were with me on the shoot shortly before London Fashion week, and the last task I did for them was an outside Catwalk Shoot - Which I noted a few weeks later was repeated by one of the fashion houses at London Fashion show. Yes I’m on the ball and I know how to get it done. Love Fashion shoots..x
